Kingston Arms 2nd Beer Festival

Update: Brewster’s Brewery Hophead voted ‘Best of the Fest’!

The Kingston Arms 2nd Beer Festival this weekend. The beers have moved outside to the garden but were served nice and cool on this sunny Saturday. Tried half pints of 7 festival beers (and a taster of York’s Guzzler at the bar) and all were refreshingly hoppy, perfect for my taste buds. Favourite was Brewster’s Hophead, a zesty hit of hops, and at 3.6% something I could have happily supped all afternoon, but the choice of other ales proved hard to ignore…

…not including several others available, and yet more indoors. Springhead’s Liberty, a pale lemony ale came a close 2nd for me.

It’s a wonderful experience at this friendly pub; the choice of summer ales is spot on, the festival in the garden, with stools at the outdoor bar, tasting notes and a vote for beer of the festival, good food – it’s a real treasure. Visit it!
